Ministries

We exemplify the Lord when we are engaged in service.  Each of us has been equipped with talents and ways to share God's love.  We invite you to become more deeply involved in the Trinity community through ministries and connectional service.

  • Children's ministry

We believe our children and youth are full members with our adult parishioners, and we strive to serve them with education and fellowship in the same way (but with added fun!) As our church has grown, so have the number of little feet in our halls. We offer nursery care and Sunday School during our 10:30 a.m. service to our elementary and younger children, as well as a monthly dedicated Sunday School for our youth, which will begin in fall '24.

  • Altar Guild

Preparing the altar and the rest of the sanctuary is an important component of worship. The sacred space follows the themes and colors of the liturgical calendar and helps create connections between the scriptures, prayers, sermons, music, and all other aspects of worship. Creative individuals who seek to faithfully prepare God's table are great for this role. Contact Rhoda if you are interested.

  • Altar Servers

Altar Servers assist in the service by carrying the processional cross, torches, lighting candles, holding the Gospel book, serving the chalice, and in other ways to help the priest or deacon during the service. If you are interested in this ministry, contact Rev. Jed

  • B.R.E.A.D.

Trinity participates in B.R.E.A.D. (Building Responsibility Equality and Dignity), a statewide organization comprised of 44 congregations of different faith traditions, who each year identify certain community needs, and build cases to put to city and state officials in an open public forum. Issues on which such overt push for change has been exerted are payday lending, abandoned housing, and affordable housing. For more information about the B.R.E.A.D. Organization, click HERETo get involved with this social justice ministry at Trinity, contact Catherine

  • Coffee Hour Fellowship Hosts

Following both the 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 services, Coffee Hour Fellowship Hosts help Trinity to welcome guests, build community, and put a smile on people's faces by providing a delicious treat. Sign up at the Coffee Hour table at the rear of church.

  • Flower Guild

Members of the Flower Guild help beautify the church for Sunday worship by designing and preparing floral arrangements that adorn the High Altar (and sometimes other areas of the church, depending on the liturgical season). To get involved, contact the Church Office

  • Holy Hosts

Holy Hosts are available at Trinity to open the church doors before and/or after advocacy meetings that are taking place at the State House (across the street from our church). Contact Rev. Jed for more info.

  • Hospitality Committee

The Hospitality Committee assists with organizing church-wide brunches, receptions, and other special events. Being a part of this team is a great way to have fun and get to know other members of the Trinity faith community. To become part of the Hospitality Committee, please contact the Church Office

  • ID Ministry

Proper Identification is an integral step to getting housing and food. Trinity Church provides vouchers for State issued IDs. Stop in the office Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., call 614-221-5351, or email Rev. Jed if you are in need of this service.

  • In the Garden

Every Sunday, Trinity offers a free community lunch at 1:00 p.m. in the Church Undercroft. We begin with worship & praise, and then a homemade meal is served.  All are welcome! All are welcome! Volunteers are needed to offer hospitality, prepare food, serve the meal, set up, and clean up. Volunteer shifts run from 12:15 to 2:30 p.m. For more information, click HERE or contact Lori.

  • Lay Weeders

Lay Weeders care for God's creation by planting & watering flowers and maintaining the front & side gardens. Contact the Church Office to volunteer.

  • Lectors

Speaking the Scripture during the service is more than just reading words off the page. It is delivering a message from our sacred text, the Bible, in a way that allows the listener to absorb a deeper meaning and context. To get involved as a lector, contact Rev. Jed

  • Music Ministry

Kevin Wines is the Director of Music and Liturgist. He artistically oversees the choir, organ, and variety of music that graces all who come to Trinity. Live concerts take place throughout the year, and the choir is present at the 10:30 a.m. service. Click HERE for more information on this ministry or to join the choir.

  • PIMIL

Trinity is a participant in Partners-in-Ministry-in-Liberia (PIMIL). PIMIL is an outreach scholarship assistance program to assist families of children who live below the United Nations defined poverty level on less than $1.90 a day. That assistance now includes the Ebola orphans and since 2020, COVID-19 orphans. On the first Sunday of the month, during both worship services, Trinity collects loose change in support of PIMIL. Click HERE for more information or contact Debbie.

  • Streaming Online Services

Volunteers assist with the online streaming of the 10:30 a.m. service on Sundays. Streaming is a gift to those who otherwise can't attend in-person services. No experience necessary to volunteer, as training will be provided to learn how to operate the A/V equipment. This volunteer shift runs from 10:15-11:45 a.m. If you have questions or want to volunteer, please contact Kevin

  • Ushers

Hospitality to all who enter Trinity Church is core to communicating Christ's love. Ushers greet and welcome those who are new, demonstrate radical hospitality, and ensure connectivity to the extent it is desired by parishioners. Ushers provide bulletins, orient guests, and answer questions from newcomers. To get involved, contact Debby Fortkamp.

  • Weddings

Trinity Church is available for weddings for members and those from the broader community. Please click HERE for more information. If you are interested in holding your ceremony at the church, contact Rev. Jed or call (614) 221-5350.
