Restoring the Heart, Nourishing the Soul has been a tremendous success.

Thanks to the generosity of Trinity parishioners and friends, we exceeded our $1.5 million goal. That means the major work we set out to do can move forward: caring for our historic church, improving accessibility, renewing our formation spaces, and making sure that our historic building continues to support the life and ministries that happen here every day well into tomorrows to come.

We’re not quite finished, though—and in a good way. Additional gifts to the campaign will allow us to go further with the renovation of Trinity’s kitchen. The kitchen serves a lot of people: our own parish gatherings, In the Garden, and the churches and community groups that share in that ministry. The more we are able to raise, the more completely we can equip that space for the work it is already doing and for what we hope it can become. If you haven’t yet had a chance to participate, we’d be glad to have you join us!

“The National Fund for Sacred Places, a program of Partners for Sacred Places in collaboration with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, is proud to announce its newest cohort of grantees. This year, 29 churches and one synagogue (listed below) have been selected to receive capital grants of up to $500,000 along with tailored technical assistance to support historic preservation efforts, community engagement, and enhanced fundraising. This represents both the largest cohort of grantees in a single year and the largest amount of funding awarded in the program’s history, totaling $8.73 million in grants.”

    We’re thrilled to share that our church has been awarded a prestigious grant from the National Fund for Sacred Places! Out of 319 applicants nationwide, only 30 were chosen—placing us among a select group of historic, community-serving congregations.

    The National Fund for Sacred Places is a program of Partners for Sacred Places and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Since its founding, it has awarded more than $33 million to preserve and strengthen sacred spaces across the country

    WHY IT MATTERS

    This grant affirms the importance of our church not only as a house of worship, but as a vital hub of hospitality, justice, and community support in the heart of downtown.

    Building Upgrades

    Funds will help us restore our historic 1869 building—repairing infrastructure, improving accessibility, and creating safe, welcoming space for children’s formation, worship, and fellowship.

    KITCHEN UPDATE

    We’ll also renovate our outdated kitchen to expand our feeding ministries and deepen our partnerships—ensuring we can meet growing needs in our congregation and community with grace and dignity.
