Missio'missio' conference Sept. 30-Oct. 1

missio is a gathering of emerging church leaders, mainline leaders, and Fresh Expressions practitioners, for conversation and collaboration in (re) imagining church in ways that are radically incarnational and contextual to embody the Gospel and Reign of God in today's culture. missio is an opportunity for people in traditional congregations to dialogue with leaders of emerging Christianity, to discover innovative resources for building community through radical hospitality, emergent worship, and missional church planting within a postmodern and post-secular world. missio will explore what it means to be what the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, calls a "mixed-economy church," where traditional congregations and new expressions of church work together to participate in God's mission in the world.  Bring a team from your congregation to missio and learn to engage God's mission in new and fresh ways! Detailed information and registration is online at http://missioconference.org

CRIS foodTRINITY AGAIN ACCEPTS THE CRIS
WELCOME BASKET CHALLENGE

(Community & Refugee Imigration Services)
September Challenge:  A Food Basket
Thanks to those who helped create a kitchen basket earlier this month.  Now Trinity’s Church School Children and our Community Ministry Team are asking for your help to fill some more of the needs of families who have recently newly immigrated to our city.
CRIS requests 4 categories of baskets—Kitchen, Bath, Bedroom, Food. We focused on Kitchen in August and are creating a food basket in September.
On September 21 a Burmese family of 5 is arriving in Columbus.  Our food basket will be delivered directly to them that day.  Please note the dietary needs/suggestions in the graphic. Non-perishable items can be brought to Trinity between now and Sunday, September 18. Jori McDevitt has volunteered to shop for perishable items that day and deliver them as well.  If you would like to contribute to that purchase, please bring or send a check to the church noting CRIS FOOD BASKET on the memo, or give cash directly to Jori at church.
Visit Wikipedia's Burmese Cuisine article if you want to do some creative yet appropriate shopping for non-perishable items.
