With great sadness we report the death of Steve Blackburn, who was killed in a plane crash just before 7:00 p.m. Monday evening. Steve was piloting a private airplane to Albany, NY, when weather is assumed to have caused the crash near Albany. He was alone in the plane. An active participant at Trinity Church, Steve's wife, Debbie Wiedwald, currently serves as Junior Warden. They have three children: Sarah, Jessica and Jackson. Plans for a memorial service have not been set, but a service will take place at Trinity Church. Further email announcements will be sent once plans are finalized. We remember Steve and his family in our prayers this week at Trinity Church. Father of all, we pray to you for Steve and for all those whom we love but see no longer. Grant to them eternal rest. Let light perpetual shine upon them. May his soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. Grant, O Lord, to all who are bereaved the spirit of faith and courage, that they may have strength to meet the days to come with steadfastness and patience; not sorrowing as those without hope, but in thankful remembrance of your great goodness, and in the joyful expectation of eternal life with those they love. And this we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen. |
