Wednesdays@2: The Christmas Story in Art

Columbus Museum of Art
December 14 at 2:00 PM

Episodes connected with the Christmas story such as the Annunciation to the Virgin and Adoration of the Christ Child have been a favorite subject of artists from the Middle Ages to the 18th century. In this holiday-themed lecture, David Stark, chief curator, will look at varied approaches to the Christmas narrative, including examples from the permanent collection of CMA and from other American and European museums. Paintings, prints, and the art of the crèche will all be discussed; each demonstrating a striking range of styles that have inspired and sometimes startled viewers of the past and still resonate with modern audiences. Cost of this program is $20 for nonmembers (includes general admission) and $5 for members.

A request for In The Garden

ITGDear Trinity, Family and Friends,
We are in desperate need of certain toiletries for ITG.  I have many men asking for every week,
1. Razors
2. Deodorant
3. Shampoo
4. Toothpaste.
Our supply cabinet is very very low and I have a request for these certain products every week. I try to buy some myself every week when I go to the store but I can not keep up on the needs by myself.  Please consider donating these items to ITG.  IF you travel and are able to keep some hotel toiletries that's helps tremendously (Joe Norris, hint hint). Please leave in the undercroft basement (kitchen counter) or put in the donation basket at church with a note for ITG. Please and thank you. We need to help our less fortunate friends.
In Gods Peace.

Winter is coming!

WinterThere are more people living outside than ever before in Columbus and they are cold and hungry. Trinity will once again be a warming station on weekdays for those who need shelter from the cold. Our visitors need men’s hats, men’s gloves and new athletic socks. They also need self-opening snack items. If you have men’s winter coats and jackets not in use, please bring them to church as well. Most of our visitors do not have warm clothing. Your continuing generosity is a blessing to many.
Thank you so much!

We remember in prayer...

We remember all who work for peace around the world: for Capt. Kristian Tonnessen,  Petty Officer Kristy Sizemore, Jordan Sellman, Cynthia Epler, Matt Schumann, Captain Scott Whaley, Gunnery Sergeant Robert A Griffith Jr., and all who serve our country.
St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Damascus, Syria.
Praying for peace around the world, we continue to ask God for a deeper compassion and greater courage to offer help to refugees and migrants and all in need.
We renew our commitments to serve the neediest and most easily forgotten in our midst and remember all who are homeless and hungry in our city today.  We give thanks for the generous hospitality offered this afternoon at In The Garden, and pray for the Holy Spirit’s abundant grace in our fellowship.
We pray for all who are sick or suffering at this time –Shelley Miller, Tom & John, Mary Beittel, Sean Lalik, Jeff McNealey, Walter Friedmann, Sonia Cardenas, Kay Sturm, John Sanders,  Leah Lake, Pauline Austin, Jonie Johnson, Dick Oman, Sharon Whaley, David and Tyra and all in prison, and others whom we name silently or aloud.
As we celebrate Trinity’s 200th anniversary, we give thanks for those who worshipped at Trinity in the 1820s, including Cyrus Parker, and William and Hannah Neil.
