November 4, 2007
Fellow Parishioners,
As I reported last Sunday about 100 people attended seven Cottage Meetings held in every corner of the greater Columbus area. These meetings provided informal venues for parishioners to share thoughts and great ideas for the future of Trinity.
To date, 24 pledges have been received totally $79,664 with a mean pledge of $3,188. This compares to a total of $260.860 in 2006 and $253,101 in 2007. If we all make our pledges today or in the next week, and respond positively to the Vestry’s ask for a 15% increase in 2008, we will be well on our way to having more total pledges and total dollars for the coming year than we have had in recent years.
It’s up to us all now to do three things:
1. Decide to make a pledge commitment to Trinity for 2008.
2. Get a pledge card from the Narthex or use the one recently sent to your home (or online here).
3. Get the pledge card to the Parish Office before the end of November.
All of this will help the Vestry make plans for an active and vital 2008 at Trinity Church.
Thanks so much!
Tim Treasure,
2008 Stewardship Chair
October 28, 2007
The 2008 Stewardship program is well underway. Last Sunday evening October 21, six cottage meetings were held at various locations throughout Columbus and on Tuesday, October 23 another one was held in German Village. In total nearly 100 Trinity members attended these gatherings that provided informal venues that enabled parishioners to share their thoughts and voice their concerns. The vestry will review the notes from each meeting and formulate a plan of action.
The letter from Sr. Warden Hal Duryee, Jr. Warden Julie Newhall and our Rector Dick Burnett informed us about the strong efforts by the vestry to prepare the Parish House for increased rental. Our worship, outreach, spiritual growth and congregational life are important to all of us. Your pledge—increased if possible by 15% as encouraged for 2008—is hugely important. Please make your pledge today.
New membership is also vital to the strength of Trinity. This must be a high priority not only to the rector and the vestry but to all of us as members of this parish. As you go through your day and meet people please keep Trinity in mind, and invite them to come to a service, a concert, or a special event here at Trinity.
On a weekly basis I will share some statistics with you about the number of pledges received year to date for 2008 and how it compares to past years. Please remember your generosity can be measured in numerous ways. A pledge card can be obtained in the Narthex today, or on our website for ease.
Thanks again to everyone who assisted in hosting the Cottage Meetings. Everyone is welcome to contact me anytime should you have any questions.
Thanks so much,
Tim Treasure,
2007 Stewardship Chair

Dear fellow Parishioners,
I hope you and your families have had a wonderful summer. It's amazing how fast time flies. September is upon us and our thoughts turn to school, fall, and of course Ohio State football. As we focus on our fall schedules, I ask you to please keep Trinity in your thoughts. Our lives get consumed with children and work and sometimes we lose focus on setting aside time for one of the most important things in our lives which is the family called Trinity Episcopal Church.
I am honored to announce that I will be the Chairman of the 2007-2008 Stewardship Committee. Over the next ten weeks the vestry and I will be in touch with all of you to discuss growth, development and faith at Trinity. Stewardship is more than economics. Stewardship is about family, faith and involvement. The vestry will be introducing a program called House, Prayer, People. We are very excited about this program as we anticipate and hope that it will enhance and help the family called Trinity Episcopal Church. In addition it is my personal goal to help all parishioners understand the importance of stewardship not only in terms of economics but in terms of involvement and commitment. It all begins on Welcome to Trinity Sunday, September 9th at the 10:30 a.m. service. Please plan on joining us as we begin our Sunday school program as well as our introduction of House, Prayer, People.
I can always be reached via email at . You may also phone the Parish Office should you have any questions.
I look forward to talking to all of you over the next ten weeks.
Sincerely,
Tim Treasure
