Music at Trinity Church

The Trinity Choir is the center of musical offerings at Trinity Church.  An exciting mixed choral ensemble, our choir is made up of professional singers and highly trained and experienced volunteer members from Trinity’s congregation.  This high level of ability allows for a wide variety in the choral repertoire presented.  Romantic and classical from Mozart to Vaughan Williams are the mainstay of our music.  But frequent stretches in both directions are made—back to early music and the Renaissance; and forward to contemporary art music, spirituals and even the occasional “praise” piece.

Conducted and accompanied by Kevin N. Wines, director of music/liturgist, the Trinity Choir sings for the 10:30 a.m. liturgy each Sunday from Labor Day through Trinity Sunday in early June.  Summer services feature solo organ repertoire with Kevin at the 1970 Casavant Frères organ.

Special service throughout the year feature the Trinity Choir and guest ensembles.  Recent evensongs have featured Illuminati of the Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus, The Raise Mass Gospel Choir, and High Street a Cappella.  The Trinity Choir is annually featured at a Service of Lessons and Carols on the fourth Sunday of Advent, and a special choral prelude to the Festival Eucharist on Christmas Eve.

Any experienced choral singer who would like to take part in the Trinity Choir should contact Kevin Wines.

Professional positions occasionally come open, local trained singers are welcome to contact Kevin regarding possible openings.  For our professional singers, a controlled operatic tone quality is desired.  Excellent sight reading is essential.
